How to Find Clothes that Actually Fit

The first step to finding clothes that actually fit is to know your body. It is very important that you take your measurements before you start shopping for clothing. This is because each designer uses slightly different measurements for their products’ sizing. To select the right size for your body you need to compare your body’s measurements to the measurements on the sizing chart. It should be noted here that the size your buy is not as important as the fit. A size 12 pant that fits right is much more important that bowing to your vanity and trying to squeeze into a size 10. In fact you will look thinner if you wear a pair of well fitted pants then you will if you buy a size that is too small.
The second step to finding clothes that fit your body properly is to know what body type you have. Look at yourself in a full length mirror and draw an imaginary line around it. Ask yourself what shape your body most closely resembles, a circle, a triangle, a rectangle, or an hour glass. Use these shapes to help you select pieces that will balance out your look.
Next you will want to look for clothing pieces that offer you the right cut and fabric selection that is right for your body. For example if you are busty then you will want to look for cuts that will be able to contain and support your bustline and you will want to look for sturdy fabrics. On the other hand, if you have a very slender frame with few curves then you will want to look for cuts that create an illusion of an hour glass figure and you will be able to select from lighter-weight fabrics.
