Albino Loquat
This sumptuous member of genus japonica has the longest growth cycle of any fruit on earth due to its indigenous growth location; the ice caverns of Tasiilaq, Greenland. The fruit receives no light and its mother plant is kept at a permanent temperature of one degree above freezing. The milky white pods take up to thirteen years to ripen and have a custard-like consistency with flavors of nectarine, honey and spicy lilac.
